One difficult part about learning the English language is the existence of irregular verbs. These are verbs that do not conform to the normal rules of conjugation. How can ESL students learn all the different irregular verbs? Are there any patterns to irregular verbs? Though there are general patterns, it’s more difficult than simply studying and using the correct form of common irregular verbs. So, to make it easier for my students, I give them this Irregular Verbs Cheat Sheet.
I recommend printing out this cheat sheet of irregular English verbs. You can paste it to the inside of your English study book for reference. Throughout the semester, I let my students flip to this cheat sheet of irregular English verbs to find the correct conjugation of the verb. They find it helpful, and with practice and use, the students begin to learn the correct form of many common verbs.
